BBC South East star blogs about shock TV exit
BBC South East weathergirl Kaddy Lee-Preston has finally emerged after going to ground following her shock departure from the BBC.
The star quit the show after 11 years on March 30.
BBC chiefs remained tight-lipped over her reasons to quit the corporation and viewers only discovered she was quitting as she presented her final weather report.
But this week she has emerged on her web blog - www.kaddyblog.com - revealing she’s gone ‘freelance’.
She reveals to visitors: “A big birdy may have told you that I have left the BBC and gone freelance.
“After 11 years at South East Today and several years presenting Inside Out, it was time I made the leap and discovered what else is out there for me. I will still pop up on South East Today occasionally, but you will certainly see me popping up elsewhere too - I can’t tell you how excited I am!”
The presenter had been replaced as the main presenter on Inside Out for the last series - although at the time BBC chiefs insisted Kaddy was still a major figure in their plans for the show. She was replaced by newsreader Natalie Graham.
