Trio take home taekwondo medals from tournament

The taekwondo winners
Three Ramsgate residents have won medals at a top international taekwondo tournament.

The members of Ramsgate Olympic Taekwondo Club came out fighting at the tournament in London on Saturday, November 15.

Ethan Stokes (eight), Jakub Grela (12) and Katarzyna Grela (14) all performed to finish in the top three in each of their weight and age categories at the 13th London Open International Taekwondo Championships.

Ethan won bronze in the -31kg category and Jakub, who is the British Olympic taekwondo champion, won silver in the -58kg class.

Katarzyna, also a British champion, won gold in the A class -58 kg junior category.

Coach Leszek Grela said: “Once again we have shown our spirit and are bringing home medals.”
