Man dies in cliff-top plunge

A man has died after falling from Ramsgate’s Eastcliff.

Police were called to Wellington Crescent last night (Tuesday) after receiving reports that a man was threatening to jump off the ledge.

At about 9.50pm the man fell from the edge of the road some 150ft on to the promenade below.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man is believed to be aged in his 40s, but his name has not been released by police.

Forensic officers are on the scene.
