Cliftonville ladies remain top of Kent Women’s Outdoor Division One after a thumping 5-0 win against Maidstone.

The Ville 1st XI made it five wins out of five so far this season with another comprehensive display at the weekend.

Rachel Williams poached the first goal, striking the ball from the edge of the area, deflecting off a defender and into the goal. Again Williams showed her class with a converted penalty corner to give Ville a 2-0 half time lead.

The pressure was relentless in the second half, as captain Chris Russell received a well-timed ball from Williams before slotting the ball into the left corner.

Following a goalmouth battle, Tracy Ballard bundled over the fourth goal and the scoring was complete when Rachael Ruocco-Buchanan converted a rebound.

The 2nd XI also kept up their 100 per cent start to the season with a comfortable 5-1 win against Ashford 3rd XI.

Nineteen-year-old Hayley Shepherd hit a brace, as did 16-year-old Lacey Hinson, while Jade Bond completed the scoring.

It wasn’t such a good weekend for the 3rd XI who were beaten by their counterparts from Dartford, 5-2.
