Whitstable by train?
Or Canterbury?
People are being encouraged to take train to Kent
A high-profile campaign to attract people from London to Kent by train has been launched.

The promotion includes many two for one offers at attractions around the county including Canterbury cathedral.

The campaign has been coordinated by Visit Kent with the backing of Kent County Council, Thanet District Council, Medway Council, English Heritage and Ashford Designer Outlet.

Amanda Cottrell, chairman of Visit Kent said: “We are grateful to our investors for their strong support and for reducing their admissions to enable the two for one offers.  This is the first time in the Cathedral's history that they have offered two for one entry.”

Latest research shows that 63 per cent of British people will be taking a break or holiday in England this year.

Posters will be placed at mainline London stations across the Southeasterns network and on the London Underground, plus advertising on Heart radio.

Vince Lucas, Southeastern_s commercial director said: “We are investing massively in Kent_s public transport infrastructure and our new high speed rail services will start operating later this year, making a daytrip or short break to Kent even more appealing.”
